2 Weeks Flag-Off Executive ICT Training Recap
A+ Computer Training Technology Limited has successfully conducted a 2-week free ICT training for 40 directors from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Plateau State. This initiative, form part of our 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aimed to enhance the digital skills of Plateau State government staff, bridging the existing skill gaps through the deployment of artificial intelligence and office technology tools. The total investment for this training amounted to ₦8,500,000.
FEEDBACK:
The training was highly successful, with participants demonstrating significant improvement in their understanding and application of memo writing, Microsoft 365 tools, and artificial intelligence in administrative tasks. The feedback from the directors was overwhelmingly positive, indicating a heightened readiness to implement e-governance solutions within their respective departments. This program has set a solid foundation for future growth and efficiency in the Plateau State civil service workforce.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Provision of Laptops:
– To ensure the continuity of learning and the application of the skills acquired, we recommend that the Plateau State Head of Service provides brand new laptops to the 40 directors who participated in the training. This will support our CSR efforts and facilitate ongoing knowledge sharing within their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
2. Closing Ceremony:
– We suggest that the Head of Service provides a suitable venue and invites the Executive Government of Plateau State to officiate the closing ceremony of this 2-week training. The ceremony date should be approved by the Head of Service. This event will underscore the current government’s commitment to investing in the continuous training and retraining of Plateau State civil servants, crucial for the full implementation of e-governance in the state.
3. Continued Partnership:
– We propose that the Plateau State Head of Service enters into a formal partnership with A+ Computer Training Technology Limited for ongoing ICT training. This partnership should focus on identifying and addressing specific training needs to ensure that civil servants are equipped with the latest digital tools and skills.
4. Statewide ICT Training Implementation:
– To capitalize on the advancements in ICT, we recommend the full implementation of workforce ICT training across state and local government levels. This comprehensive approach will facilitate complete government automation, enhancing overall efficiency and service delivery.
CONCLUSION:
The success of this training program highlights the critical importance of continuous investment in the digital skills of civil servants. We look forward to a sustained partnership with the Plateau State Government to further this cause, ensuring that the workforce is well-prepared to meet the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.
